CIVIL: SOCIETY AND THE STATE HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO FOCUS THE YOUTH ON MUTUAL RESPECT, NOT ON HATRED AND VIOLENCE!

At the very start of the school year, CIVIL reminds the public that children and young people have the right to develop in a society and state in which mutual respect is fostered, to learn that there is no price tag on life, while parents, institutions, the media, public figures, all together have the obligation, with their own actions, to give them positive examples every day.

In a society that is divided on all possible grounds, we must show the youth that only together and united we can overcome all life obstacles and achieve the desired goals.

Parents have to be an example for their children. What young people manifest among their peers often is a reflection of what they see in their families.

We remind the institutions, schools, teachers and professors that the educational system does not mean just teaching from textbooks, but more important is that they have a significant contribution in the emotional and cognitive development of children and have a central role in social development and changes.

We encourage teachers and psycho-pedagogical services to work with children on these topics, to follow their behaviour and to take specific steps before it’s too late. Enough of the violence among peers!

Education of children and the youth must not be overshadowed by the daily political and dirty party fights. They must leave those fights outside of the educational process!

We remind that carrying a weapon in public is punishable by law. Physical and psychological harassment leaves consequences on the lives of young people. Society and the state are obliged to focus the youth on learning how to respect each other, and not to divide and kill themselves!

Children, happy start of the new school year! Know and respect your rights, but also the rights of others!
