CIVIL: CONDEMNATION FOR THE CHAUVINISM AND MISOGYNY!

CIVIL strongly condemns the statement of VMRO-DPMNE’s spokesperson Naum Stoilkovski directed at new Minister of Finance Nina Angelovska. The statement that comes from Stoilkovski is filled with messages that represent discrimination on the basis of gender, sexism, chauvinism and misogyny.

In a democratic and progressive society that strives for European values, there is no place for chauvinistic and sexist statements, particularly not from political party spokespersons.

It is unacceptable for a representative of one of the biggest political parties to be spreading stereotypes about the participation of women in political and public life, by using primitive vocabulary.

With such rhetoric, Stoilkovski is not only trying to discriminate Angelovska, but also all women. The time of utterly miserable attitude towards women is over!

We call on the Commission for Protection Against Discrimination to initiate an initiative for a procedure before the competent bodies due to violation of the Law on Prevention and Protection Against Discrimination. The state and society must put an end to chauvinism and misogyny!
