Best citizen journalist contest begins

The seminars on “Be a citizens journalist”, within the framework of the “Civic Lenses” project have concluded with the fifth seminar that was held in Veles, on December 19 and 20, 2015.

nedCIVIL – Center for Freedom invites all participants of the seminar "Be a citizen journalist", as well as all interested citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, to participate in the monthly competition cycles for most successful video recordings and photos on all types of intimidation, blackmail, political corruption, bribing of the electorate, violation of voting rights, abuse of public resources and administration.

Each month, the five most successful submissions will be rewarded with vouchers for the purchase of photo/video and computer equipment. The highest monthly prize is 110 dollars.

The first prizes will be awarded at the beginning of February 2016. The deadline for submitting your submissions is January 20, 2015.

Everyone with a smart phone, camera or camcorder of any kind, and everyone who has at least basic writing skills, is invited to get involved in our project.

CIVIL - Center for Freedom would like to thank all of you for your participation, interest and commitment. We encourage you to participate actively as citizens who through research, media activities and activism, as a basis for long-term monitoring, will contribute to the development of citizen journalism.

The overall objective of the “Civic Lenses” project is to raise awareness on political processes related to the forthcoming elections and to alarm the domestic and international public on fraudulent practices in an electoral context, and to identify cases of violations of the voting right.
